Competition was fierce for the Bersin & Associates 2012 Learning Leaders Program. The research-driven program is designed to recognize innovation and excellence in critical areas of HR, learning and talent, and this year it received more submissions than ever.
This year, Bersin & Associates recognized more than 30 organizations that have developed and implemented unique and innovative approaches to HR, learning and talent resulting in significant business improvement. Among the leading innovators who won this year: Accenture, AT&T, Cisco, Booz Allen Hamilton, Hewlett-Packard, Marriott, PwC, Vestas Wind Systems, and Xerox.
This year’s winners demonstrated that the focus of learning has evolved from simply building a skill set to developing the right skills for competitive business advantage. The winners emerged from hundreds of applicants – including industry leaders in management consulting, hospitality, business process and document management, financial services and wind power. Executed in the face of a challenging economic recovery, winning programs focused on business alignment, measurement, social networking, and simplicity.
As in past years, winning organizations and their programs are showcased in a special awards issue of Elearning! magazine, the media partner for the Bersin & Associates Learning Leaders Program. Winners also are featured in a report by Bersin & Associates incorporating the best practices, findings, and observations collected during the judging process.
Help us celebrate this year’s winners – joint us at IMPACT 2012: The Business of Talent, where on April 12 we will recognize this year’s winners and celebrate their achievements!

A Message from David Mallon and Kim Lamoureux:
Thank you for exploring our Learning Leaders Program. Our goal is to identify best practices and recognize your achievements. We look forward to hearing about how your organization is meeting its key challenges.
Designed as an extension of our research, the Learning Leaders program uses selection criteria based on our years of in-depth study across all areas of learning and talent management. Now in its fifth year, the Learning Leaders program has evolved significantly. As we move into the borderless workplace that is required to compete in our rapidly changing global environment, organizations are integrating learning, talent and HR and our program categories now encompass initiatives such as employee onboarding, succession management and the use of portal technologies.
Be sure to check out the previous Learning Leaders winners to get an idea of the types of programs and initiatives we consider top notch. Please download a copy of Learning Leaders: Lessons from the Best. You'll see that the program is not exclusive to well-known organizations with big resources. All organizations – big and small, public and private, government and non-profit – have equal opportunity for recognition.
We look forward to hearing about the innovative programs that are driving results for your organization.
