The Turnaround in L&D Spending: A Renaissance in Corporate Training

Tuesday, January 18, 2011
This week we introduced our 2011 Corporate Learning Factbook (a "must-read" for any HR or training leader).

This report, which we labor over each year, details spending on corporate training in the US and around the world. For the first time in nearly two years, corporate spend on training is growing - demonstrating business confidence in the coming year.  Companies are now focused on globalization, driving innovation and product introductions, sales, and professional development.  Leadership development and technical skills are back on top as key priorities for the coming year.

Today's corporate training department is very different from the corporate university of ten years ago:  we are in the beginning of a real renaissance in this industry, with a focus on social learning, informal learning, agile learning, and new media and formats to deliver content in a compelling way.

This bodes well for the year ahead, and we look forward to keeping you up to date on all the key trends and best practices in training throughout the year.  At our IMPACT 2011 conference I will be introducing our new research agenda on the Borderless Workplace, which will show you how all these exciting changes come together to drive business performance in today's global environment.

Bring your team this year - we have a special "IMPACT for Teams" program which will help you educate, inform, and align your entire HR and L&D team for an exciting year ahead.
